Construction

While each Simba mattress shares some attributes, you’ll find differences among them as well. Here are the construction and design details for the Hybrid, Hybrid Pro, and Hybrid Luxe models:

Simba Hybrid

The Simba Sleep Hybrid mattress is built with five layers of comfort combining conical springs and memory foam. The five layers are as follows:

Breathable Sleep Surface – The top layer is detachable and washable so you can keep your mattress feeling fresher for longer. It’s hypoallergenic and super soft to the touch.

Open Cell Foam Layer – This layer is designed to help keep you cool by regulating the temperature while providing an extra boost of comfort.

Titanium Aero-Coil Spring Comfort Layer – The conical springs in Simba Sleep mattresses cradle your body from head to toe, keeping you supported throughout your sleep. Their design also helps to minimise disturbance between couples when sleeping in the same bed. The Simba Hybrid has up to  2,500 of these 25 mm conical springs.

High-Definition Foam with Edge Support – The layer of foam moulds to your body, ensuring top-level comfort throughout the night, whichever position you like to sleep in.

Zoned Base – The final layer is a zoned base that provides pressure-relieving support to your sleep in all the right places.

Simba Hybrid Pro

As for the Simba Hybrid Pro, you’ll find it is made up of the following 7 layers:

Breathable Sleep Surface – This sleep surface is not only breathable, but it is also soft and lusciously thicker than that found in the Simba Hybrid.

Natural Wool Layer – Not only is wool soft, but it also acts as a natural fire retardant. This layer is unique to the Hybrid Pro.

Open-Cell Foam Layer – You’ll find this layer in both the Hybrid as well as the Hybrid Pro.

Two Unique Patented Titanium Aerocoil Spring Layers – Unlike the Simba Hybrid, the Hybrid Pro contains two layers of 25 mm conical Aeorcoil springs. Based on size, this mattress model can contain up to 5,000 springs. They are individually pocketed to reduce motion transfer.

High Definition Foam with Edge Support – This layer is found in both the Hybrid and the Hybrid Pro. In addition to being supportive, the edge support prevents you from sinking too much if you sit on the edge of your bed.

Zoned Support Base – The zoned support base is designed to provide different pressure relief and support to different regions of the body.

Simba Hybrid Luxe

The Simba Hybrid Luxe is made up of ten layers. It contains up to 5,000 25mm conical pocket Aerocoil springs.

Soft Breathable Surface & Open-Cell Casing – The top of the mattress is incredibly soft to the touch and breathable so you’ll feel cool and comfortable while you sleep.

Bamboo Wool Layer – This layer does a good job of thermoregulation while providing extra comfort. It also wicks away moisture and the wool is known for its antibacterial properties.

Open-Cell Simba Pure Foam Layer – Open-cell foam is designed for breathability, unlike traditional memory foam. Simba’s also includes graphite for even more cooling capability.

Two 25mm Aerocoil Spring Comfort Layers – This layer contains up to 5,000 25mm conical pocket Aerocoil springs. They are designed to minimise motion transfer. Furthermore, they provide more breathability to your mattress.

High-Definition Simba-Pure with Edge Support – This layer provides support to the body while also reinforcing the edges of the mattress, so you’ll never feel like you’ll roll off.

40mm High Carbon Steel Spring Comfort Layer – Up to 1,000 40mm conical pocket aerocoil springs made of titanium alloy manufactured in Leeds. This second spring layer means that the Luxe has even more coils than the Simba Pro for more of a weightless feel while allowing for greater airflow.

High Definition Simba-Pure with Edge Support – This layer matches the one above, for the highest level of support and comfort.

Zoned Simba-Pure Support Base – Each Simba mattress has a zoned support base, meaning that different areas of the mattress are designed to provide different levels of support and pressure relief based on how the body lies upon it.

Mattress Cover

The covers of the Simba mattresses are made of soft, hypoallergenic, and breathable materials. The cover of the Simba Hybrid Luxe goes a step above in the softness department – some people describe it as similar to cashmere! It’s also incredibly breathable.

The covers of the Simba Hybrid and Simba Hybrid Pro are not removable and should be spot cleaned only. The cover of the Simba Hybrid Luxe, however, is removable and comes with washing instructions.

Firmness, Feel & Support

All Simba Sleep mattresses have been built to ensure the highest level of comfort, no matter which position you like to sleep in. They achieve this through their use of 2,500 to 6,000 conical pocket springs along with responsive memory foam.  You’ll find that there is minimal motion transfer so you won’t risk disturbing your partner. This Edge Lift technology offers a level of support for sleepers in any position.

Sleeping hot isn’t a problem with the Simba mattresses thanks to cooling features such as open-cell foam, graphite, and coils. The Luxe is the model that stays coolest since it has three layers of coils, versus two in the Pro, and one in the original Hybrid.

Simba has engineered their mattresses to work for people of any shape or size. Their warranty covers up to 18 st. (114 kg) per sleeper. Each mattress has a medium-firm feel. You’ll note that the Simba Hybrid Luxe does have a plusher feel than the original Hybrid or Hybrid Pro models.

Final Word

Simba Sleep mattresses are designed to work for any style of sleeper, and are especially beneficial for couples thanks to their edge support technology. The Simba Hybrid Pro outshines the Simba Hybrid thanks to double the number of coils and the extra soft sleep surface, however most people would be happy with either model. If you’re especially concerned about sleeping hot or want a plusher feel, choose the Simba Hybrid Luxe. With the 200 night trial period, you can’t go wrong with choosing a Simba mattress.

Is the 100-night sleep trial the same if I pay with financing?

Guest
David Little

Just ordered a mattress and wondered if pillows come automatically or do I have to apply for them – thanks – David

answer
Currently, SimbaSleep is offering a promotion with two free pillows if you enter the code available at the top of their website when you check out. You may want to reach out to the brand directly to see if you can still get the pillows. SimbaSleep offers several ways to contact them on their site, including email, WhatsApp, and Live Chat.

Hi do any of your mattresses cater for someone that has shoulder pain, lower back pain hip and knee pain,I have tried firmer mattresses for my back but find very painful for shoulders after about 2 minutes on my side.my back pain is constant and find it very hard to sleep

answer
As we're not healthcare providers, we cannot recommend a mattress to alleviate pain. Instead, you should speak with your physician to determine if a particular mattress firmness would be best for you. That being said, your sleep position can affect which mattress firmness is most comfortable for you. If you sleep on your side, more pressure is put on your hips so it's better to choose a soft or medium firmness mattress. If you're a combination sleeper (sleep in multiple positions -- side, back, stomach), a medium-firm mattress tends to be a good choice. Simba Sleep is a good choice for those seeing a medium-firm mattress. For a softer mattress, check out MattressOnline.

Thank you for the info.
Do not understand the terms:
360° high-density foam border
Zoned base

answer
The 360 degree high-density foam border means that the foam border goes completely around the mattress to provide better edge support, so you won't sink so much if you sit at the edge of the bed. The zoned base means that the bottom layer of the mattress is divided into special support zones to better support your body based on common high pressure areas. This will help you sleep more comfortably.

I would need a queen size mattress. Is your EU Queen the same size as a US size? Also, can you ship to US? Thanks!

answer
Simba does not ship to the US at this time. You may want to check out the most recommended mattresses in the US, as this is strictly a UK mattress review site.

XANDRA BINGLEY

Hi Simba, I have a painful lower back. I have a bed 150 x 180cm — NOT 190cm that does not fit I’ve tried it.
Any advice is very welcome. Thanks Xandra

answer
Unfortunately, Simba does not offer a mattress that is 150 x 180 cm. This seems to be a very unusual size and none of the brands we've reviewed carry it. Did you purchase your bed in the UK?

Please can you tell me if your mattress contains any form of metal when talking about springs?

answer
The springs are made of titanium, which is a metal.

Can I use a standard mattress protector on your product without it affecting the breathable sleep surface?

answer
The material of the mattress protector may make you feel warmer, such as if it is made of unbreathable plastic.
