The cover is made of 100% polyester. It’s removable, washable and breathable, and provides good temperature control thanks to special climate fiber. Also, the cover is inboards waterproof, meaning that no humidity goes inside, but liquid (sweat, oils, etc.) is forced to go out. This helps protect the mattress and enhance its longevity while providing a dry sleeping experience.

The mattress is soft, yet highly supportive. On the firmness scale of 1 to 10, the original Emma can be categorized as medium-firm (with a firmness level of  7). A generally accepted rule is that most people feel comfortable when sleeping on 6 to 8 firmness level mattresses, so the original Emma will be suitable for most types of sleepers. However, in case you have any painful areas, like joints or the back, the softer version may be more suitable to help ease the pain and relieve pressure. The edge support of the mattress is fine, but it’s considerably worse compared to other products on the market.

The sinkage of the mattress is pretty good. Thanks to the 3D technology of the construction, Emma provides just enough sinkage to contour to the sleeper’s body, creating a feeling of lying “in” a bed rather than “on” a bed.

The company takes care of deliveries and returns completely free of charge. Saturday delivery is available for £35. If you wish the mattress to be installed in a room of your choice, there will be a small fee involved ranging from 35 to 66 Pounds.
